Just want to say that I brought your course and find that it is very informative. And I hope you don't mind if I tell you that what I love about this course the most is "Your Jokes" they really make my blues go away at the end of the day. Lasty please don't make "pattern piano" an endangered species.

This video is great. Very easy to understand. I am just learning and can play this and its sounding pretty good. Blues was what I was looking for. Thank you. Going on to lesson 4 now.

Hi pjtvm - thanks for your kind words. You're actually right on the money - the C-Bb is a minor 7th interval. As you mentioned, it can be used as the root and 7th to form a V7 chord (Dominant 7th), and can then also be used in other locations (IV, V of V) to form Dominant 7th chords. Dig those theory teachers!
