Bow Tuning Tips/Basic Rest Setup

Kenny, why do you set the brass knocks so far apart? Wont or cant the arrow knock slide down the string and cause inacurate elevation shots?

@twhah08 if you don't the arrow will be pinched and cause more problems like maybe cracking the back of the arrow where the nock goes in. Most people use d loops and you want them to be close together.

I have a single cam bow. So 1/8 is standard for this? For a dual cam I would set it to 0"?

Have you ever thought about putting together a bow-tuning set with all the necessary tools, string-material, spreader, etc. to re-serve, put in a D-loop, nocking point, peep-sight-etc. and sell it as a reasonably (:)) priced package? I think I'd buy one from you.

Kenney: Can you explain the 1/8 " vs. 0 "? How do I know what size string I have to determine what nock-size to buy? Thanks

You are going to have to customize the setting for the rest most single cans should be set high. The setting is like this due to Nock travel if your nock travel is level so should your nock setup be. That string size wont matter the nock will fit

Dear Kenny, I love your videos, and thanks for every tips that u shared!! There's one thing I'm really confused is why the nock height should be setup at 1/8? Is it standard setting for all compound bow or by the different cam? I'm going to buy a monster MR6, so at what nock height does it require ? I watched almost all compound bow setup videos from YouTube, but I can't find a detailed explanation of a proper way to locate nock height for a compound bow. Would u mind ?

Hey man Great Vid !!!! and i like that little Tool you Got there lol , I just got my New 2011 Martin Rack Attack Bow Shoots 320 Fps and 80% Let Off But Yeah Today was a great day to tune her up with No Sun out , I did the Aline the arrow the Old School way LOL Keep shooting till It goes where u want IT lol not bad got it all set for 10 and 20 yards a 100 % the 30 needs a little more work , but did that in like a hour The Brush Arrow Rest That came with the Bow I don't Like make to much Sound

hey kenney you are right the center guage is hard to find but not impossible I got mine off of ebay. just have to look for it and set the sight to inform you if any come on for sale thas what I had to do to get it. and it wastn that much about $25 dollers.

Kenny - Great video. I'm planning on installing a QAD and wasn't sure how to square things up. Thanks for the info. Question about leveling the bow...I have a single cam bow and heard the string is not level on a single cam when the bow is level. Is that true?
