This is an interesting video of a girl (I think she is not Japanese, but... who knows) from a TV program that trains to become a maiko. In this part of the program the maiko tells the girl (who wants to train as a geisha for a short time) why she became a maiko, etc.

  • Its not like knowing Japanese would help you understand this video anymore then you already do...They're speaking Chinese as well as the subtitles are in Chinese...

(We don't need to debate on whether or not Cantonese is Chinese or not...Just pointing that out cuz a lot of people want to argue about that..)

  • Yes, the lady is Chinese. =) They are doing a documentary on maiko-san.

  • is komono speaking chinese?! l knew she grew up in china, but l wouldn't have expected her to speak so fluently

  • she is a chinese

  • 0:37 it's a shinto shrine

  • No, her obi is just tied in a standard taiko musubi. That is quite standard, she is just in normal kimono, as she would be when having a day off, going to training, etc. The darari obi is worn for going to engagements, not for everyday life.

  • I never knew Komomo-san could also speak Chinese as well as Japanese!

  • i love kanzashi! they're so much fun to make!

  • Where do u guys get all that info of who is this geisha or what x.x I barely recognize a few
