Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation of a wind turbine rotating motion is calculated by the software, STAR-CCM+, not proscribed. Iso surface shows turbulent viscosity ratio www.cd-adapco.com
Oftentimes, the support tower is neglected in the analysis to save on computational resources. I think it's an error to do so as the pole leads to enhanced levels of turbulence intensity in the near wake. If it is left out, proper modeling of the wake evolution will be wrong.
I am doing the same simulation with matlab.I am getting good wake shedding from one blade but when i m trying to shed wake from other two blades its giving very bad shape so can you please help me about how to shed the wake if three blades are oriented 120 degree to each other.Like what is shedding angle at the trailing edge of the blades with respect to co-ordinate system
This simulation program is free?

@sjh7132 Perhaps it just wasn't being included in the simulation for simplicity?

@sjh7132 I noticed that, too. Good question.

It's interesting that the pole has an effect on the blades, yet doesn't have a lot lf slow air behind it, like the center hub does. Why is that?
