From 'But that is me' ,1972.Sunbeam Records have re-released it on cd with 23 bonus tracks, including her 3 singles and various outakes.
The album is now recognised as a lost classic of baroque pop and this track flutters by and is gone in a flash.
She went on to appear in several TV programmes post 1976.
This upload is from the vinyl, capturing her warmth.
Fond memories,Mandy,of playing your music.

She is a nice singer but not one that I really follow. I could imagine Twiggy singing 'Daffodil' equally sweetly.

  • @zzenzero Does that mean you Charlie Dore too?

Hi Bruce. Thanks for your feedback. This song has haunted me 40 years now. It was hearing this on late night radio in '72 that prompted me to go out, and like you, buy it quickly! I was very much into the 'Twiggy' type, crystal clear, English female vocals then (still am) and Mandy has that in abundance. 'Fine' was the other song on the radio, and it's still not been uploaded. Time someone put that right. :)

  • I have the original vinyl album which I bought on its release. I love the inventiveness and breadth of the subject matter and musicality. Mandy deserved much wider recognition and I suspect she was ahead of her time.
