In Kentucky as soon as the police run your plate they will know if you have your CCDW or not. The record is attached to the registration. My feeling is it is best to let them know if you have a weapon either on you or in the vehicle.

@jh28100 My CCDW instructor advised my class to let the officer know that you have a CCDW and a firearm on you (if you do at the time) when you get pulled over. This is probably wise however It's not required by law as far as I know where as at the time I made this video it was required by law in Ohio. This illustrates the nessessity of knowing the CCW laws in whatever state you travel.

thanks for posting. i’m in tn but found this help full. i’m getting my ccp next year and we travel to NY about once a year. in TN is good in KY, OH AND PA, i know we can use deadly force in car jacking and homes (Castle doctrine) and i think place or work as well. have not remembered all the laws yet.

@zachdMX721 Thanks for view and commenting. Congratulations on your decision to get your CCP. Be sure to check the laws of every state your will be travelling through on your way to NY as well as the laws in NY itself. Each state has it's own laws governing CCW as well as how to legally have a firearm in your car when travelling.
