@matttchapman i see, i have used the 2.4 8v diesel block used in some forklifts as a block with a c20xe head and this engine looks very like a z20let vxr astra ecotec engine (going by the rocker cover). It would be interesting to try the block with a petrol head and turbo... which is why i asked :)
I may look further into this in the new year, ill keep you posted

You must have pulled the crank and what about cleaning the block and check for cracks and boring the block align honing and checking block surfaces. This is not a complete rebuild in my book I don't care what anyone says.

@lerlo It's an Isuzu, they are Japanese, its just a SUV (decent size), with what... a 3.0L inline 4, of course its has more room than you 2dr civic...

what kind of power is this 3.0 inline 4 and are the engines cheap and readily available?

@bigdeesri Crappy power and the engines are not that good. I ended up getting rid of the Isuzu Rodeo and would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.
