CT scan of a bottlenose dolphin's head, showing its skull and eventually its veins.
Image rendered using Dolphin 3D, www.dolphinimaging.com/3d.
Dolphin 3D reconstructed and animated a DICOM dataset from a CT scan. This is used as preliminary visualizations for research and an excellent teaching tool on the vascular anatomy of the mammal. These renderings allow researchers to analyze key reference areas before an actual dissection.
