Okay, I had a bit of trouble getting him to go that day, so don't yell at me for that. So, we were going along nicely until he decides that something "scary" outside wants to eat him, and then he just bolts. I didn't let him get very far, though.

  • maybe the horse is spooking at the mirror? I mean, i don't ride in the indoor with one horse because he doesn't like the mirror... Idk, but that's just a thought...

  • @horsie623 i spose that might be it... horses at this barn tend to find the most random excuses ever when things get hard. :) he spooked, the horse i'm on now sneezes... they're such ponies :)

  • haha your trainer seems like a bitch, trying to blam the spook on your mom or something... "did you move?!?!?" haha.

Nicely sat and dealt with. =]

  • @iggywasapiggy We were trying to figure out what spooks him so that we could work him through it... she's really not a bitch :)

    and thank you (:

  • ''I heard something up there!''

''Well, maybe turn a page, but ..''

and a horse should not be afraid if something moves or sounds, you can train a horse so it does not get scared so easily. And you really should if you want a confident and safe horse, believe me it's really worth it. and the horse will be much calmer aswell!

And btw. I dont think the horse would have been scared if she moved or turned the page, the horse was concentrated in the rider maybe it didn't wanna work or saw a ghost :o

  • Excellent seat! ive gotten a little better at spooking. for example the first time i rode was on a standard bred gelding and he spooked at something in the field and bolted at full gallop across the riding arena threw me off and i landed on the wooden mounting stairs and rolled down them, almost broke ribs. the next time a horse sppoked was when my riding instructor had me on a quarter horse mare and he told me to carry a pole. so i did and i shifted the poll and the mare spooked. i stayed on.

  • Great riding. ;)

  • Good riding. Nice control. My horse is very very forward, and I took her outside today where she would trot her fastest down the long side and practically walk the short side. Very aggravating. Nice seat!

  • small arena? how do you jump??

  • @Str33tification wat ev mate that is just my opinion so dont get so worked up bout nothin....

  • @supabug98 The horse can probably stretch his legs if that was the intention, because it's not THAT small. Maybe the intention is even to have it small, since they're only going round in a circle. They might have a bigger one. Think about the fact that they're going slow, on purpose, since the instructor actually tells them to. And you can also ride out in the forest and stretch their legs out more. Don't be such a fucking critic before u know them or the stable.

  • oh my god.... this was a bigger galopp jump not more..

    :D

  • Good job staying on! Your instructor sounds a little rude tho...

  • @LiveToRide81 I stuck a mirror in my stallion's box and he loves it! Won't leave it alone, he just can't seem to figure out why the figrue in it won't greet him xD
