for a moment i also thought that peyton was quite a fool to reject the proposal.. but now i understood.. my boyfriend just asked me to get engaged.. i'm just 19.. i said no.. and now he said that if i do not want him, then he'll find somebody who does.. it's not about wanting or not.. i do love him.. but the time is not right.. lucas should understand that.. but then again, they're happily married!

@nrdcoyne yes, she should have said yes. But Luke wanted Peyton to go back to Tree Hill, to live with her .. But she didn't want ! And when he suggested to live with her at LA, she turned out because she didn't want him to be mad at her someday for having prevented him to fulfil his dreams. And, she was right.

I still maintain that she could have said yes to engagement and just not have gotten married for a few years, it's not exactly a radical thing. I mean, marriage is supposed to be forever, but an engagement could have been called off. She should have said yes.

It always frustrates me, In real life or on TV shows, when someone thinks they know whats best for YOU. Like, the way Peyton is here. Lucas knows what makes him happy (Peyton) and he's doing something about it. Ugh. When people think they know the best for you, it usually is just an excuse for them. For Peyton, it was an excuse to run and hide.

@XxSucker4VampiresxX I think this is all really contrived and not the best of best ways to break them up...but the writers needed something...bc honestly Peyton could have just said yes, but told Lucas let's to just have a long engagement period for 2-3 years or so, also. Just bc you're engaged doesn't mean an immediate marriage.

I am so not a Leyton shipper (or any Lucas ship for that matter) but Lucas's response to his put-on-hold proposal was childish and immature. I understand Lucas moving on etc. but his attitude towards Peyton wanting to wait is awful. He might have loved her but Lucas wasn't ready for a marriage at all. Geez, the guy went so jackass as to proposition Brooke after proposing to Peyton. He needed a slap upside the head.

Im sorry but i agree its lucas who gave up on them.. yeah he asked her to marry him but i agree witth peyton that they needed to sucseed on their own first otherwise one of them would end up sacrificing their dreams for the other... and they are only 19.
