What's great about wildflower seeds is that you really don't need to sow them in formal rows in raised beds like I do with my vegetables. There are a lot of creative ways to plant flowers in your yard, and one way is by making seed balls.

How fun! I'm also making seed bombs this year to use in Southern NH. Figured it was a good winter project so I have them for this Spring. Have been dying to try it but hadn't gotten around to it. This is the year. So glad to see someone else from the Northeast having fun with seed bombs. Thanks for inspiration.

@impossibleXlilXbratX You can use organic peat moss to sub for compost. I mix this with Japanese akadama soil(found in bonsai supply section) . I use 3/4 cup of peat moss to 1 3/4 cup akadama soil. Add water little bit by bit-not too much. You could add red clay, but I just add some organic dried sphagnum moss to keep it together and absorb any excess water.

Thanks so much for the great instructions! I'm going to do this activity with kids at a camp this weekend. I'm bringing my dried sunflower heads from my garden. This will be so much fun!!
