Off-peek wgtn is growing but noway close to peek hours
yes both wgtn bus and rail needs drivers
-
Very good question, USE IT TVNZ and put it to both Clark and Key

all of the major citys (aka Auck, Wgtn, Chch, Dndn) need a rail system connected to there airports and suburns, other citys/towns can do with bus systems

It's not about dwelling on the past and bringing back what hasn't been done. It is NOW the time that we need reliable transport and it is up to US and the government to put in place the best transport plan for TODAY and the future. We may not be able to set up something that should have been done 30-40 years ago, but we can do what we can by embracing what we have and working with it. It is never too late.

Aucklands problem is that the government said NO to a subway system back in the 70's, and now we need one and it's too late. The rest of the country would do better with a efficient bus system.

One of the problems with public transport is the lack of drivers. On my route(in Wellington) they have to randomly cancel services cos they dont hav enough drivers to go around.
Secondly there is a lack of passengers during the daytime so makes it hard to extend services.

Nice
good question

maybe they should pay the drivers more then - most people I know in wellington would be happy with a small price rise if they knew it was going straight to the drivers.
