Just to let ya al knw, Aziz mian is referring to this world when he says 'Maikada' and 'Knowledge' when saying 'MAH'. He was a Muslim and knew drinking 'mah' (Sharab) is forbidden in Islam. So don't let it mislead you.. Take it as he wanted you to.. It is undoubtedly a masterpiece but can mislead those with little knowledge, exactly as he stated in his qawali 'Kamzarf ko sharab pilana haram hai ) It is forbidden to give wine (of knowledge) to the mean spirited.

i am not outsider to Islam, but in my view this is true Islam, tolerant, open to other faiths and humane. may the darkness of illusion and hatred be washed away by wine(knowledge). I raise my glass to brotherhood, peace and to this man; cheers!

I don't think he did. I understand he had a 2 Masters, one in urdu, the other in philosophy. But I'll happily be corrected if you can provide a reliable source.
