Our group is Deva Flamenco performing a traditional gypsy dance for Chester's Roman Festival. Spanish dancers from Cadiz in Andalucia were famous for their dancing throughout the Roman Empire. We learned this dance from Sylvia Zalas. This is probably the style of dance that the "puellae gaditanae" - the girls from Cadiz - would have brought to Chester nearly 2000 years ago
