12-string Guitar: Hallelujah, I'm A Bum

A 'Bum' or a 'Hobo' is a term used in America that is the equivalent to a 'tramp' or 'vagrant' in Britain. They are people who travel round the country by any means they can, especially obtaining illegal free rides on freight trains, hiding inside unlocked box-cars. They exist on hand-outs, charity and occasionally by doing odd jobs. Back at the time of the Great Depression in the 1930s, a large number of men turned to this way of life simply because there were no jobs for them to do.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! My mother and I didn't have a TV when I was little and we used to sit around with her guitar and sing songs and this is one of them. I wanted to share it with my daughter when she was old enough but I never thought I would have a chance. I thought it might be lost. I'm still hunting of other songs we sang.
