This is the first flowering of the Titan Arum in Singapore and the inflorescence has completed its cycle on 9 December 2010.

It was planted in the Singapore Botanic Gardens in 2006 using corms obtained from the Huntington Botanical Gardens in California.

  • @smurfboywv Haha, I didn't know about Lois the Amorphophallus titanum until you told me about it and googled it for myself. Well, at least Lois looked somewhat better than the SBG one and wasn't burnt.

  • @gnoofeew Yeah, just like the Lois amorph, it never fully opens, maybe its because of being moved.

  • @smurfboywv Notice the tip of the flower being black at 0:34 seconds? By 0:44 seconds and onwards, it is evident that the tip is being burnt badly. Apparently it is the mistake of the staff of the Gardens to put the plant under strong spotlight for long hours. This plant is naturally an undergrowth plant that doesn't do well under strong light conditions. I disagree that the plant actually completed its cycle. It withered before it could even bloom!

  • I wonder why it never opened up like a vase?
