On Dec. 16, 2010, 132 people were arrested outside the White House in a large act of civil resistance. The next day those who decided to fight the charges had to show up at the US Park Police Anacostia Station in D.C. to receive a court date. After waiting for hours on end, some of the arrestees had some new holiday tunes to share. This is just one of many songs we sang until we were asked to stop.
Lyrics:
They're working for peace in the White House
They're kind to the homeless and poor
They endlessly fund education
They're compassionate folks to the core
(lies lies lies...it is all a bundle of lies..of lies...) (x2)
We ask what is national security
Surveillance, repression and jail
Is it FBI raids and entrapment?
They say that their mission won't fail
(lies lies lies...it is all a bundle of lies..of lies...) (x2)
They say that they're trying to stop war
Wikileaks exposed their lies
And Bradley is in jail for their war crimes
Assange take the rap -- we ask why?
(lies lies lies...it is all a bundle of lies..of lies...) (x2)
we grannies don't buy all these lies!
Thanks to some true patriots!
Peace Brothers and Sisters!
