  • Nice video. I love the fact that there are Black people who are not only in the background as entertainment, but are actually at the centre of attention dancing. In the words of Paul Mooney, "...Hollywood is crazy."

  • @cemmi2 I think that was Walter Johnson on drums.

  • splendid

  • Fantastico!!!!!

    Grazie per il Video.

  • Thanks for the interesting note

  • The building is still there on 7th ave in Harlem. It's a C-Town grocery store....!

  • that was the most amazing version of this song i've ever heard. THanks for posting!

  • Wow, what a spirited song! They don't write songs of this caliber much anymore, if EVER! The entire recording process and studio could never be duplicated. LIVELY UP, PEOPLE, celebrate LIFE, more LOVE! : ^ )

  • My uncles made it to Connie's Inn a couple of times only, just like people have said below, it was the great depression, and it was a big deal for blue collar jazz fans. Henderson's band is in their finest , world famous form here. You get 5 deserved stars and a fave! I myself used to drink at the famous S-shaped bar at Small's Paradise in '78-'80, but if

there was any headliner jazz there by that time I never saw or heard any publicity for it. Thanks for this!

  • One of the greatest big band of the era. Tight ensemble sound, wonder swing feel.
