I'm Jeff Swearengen, Conservation Officer with the Iowa DNR. I'm here today with some tips to help you have a safe and successful spring recreation season.

Every spring the woods are shared with a variety of recreational users. Hikers, birdwatchers, mushroom hunters, shed hunters all need to be aware of each other in their surroundings. Those not turkey hunting should always wear blaze orange and avoid wearing bright colors, especially red, white, blue or black because these are the colors of a wild gobbler.

With these tips and more you can have a safe and successful spring recreation season. For more information visit us on the web at www.iowadnr.gov.
