@joliphantful Nah that's not true at all Sorry, I watched the Dr No documentary and James Bond's greatest hits documentary, Montie Norman originally had this music from another source and producers weren't satisfied with the overall finished version so they brought in John Barry to re amp it and John Barry rescored it but it was Monty Norman who in a way 'created' the bond theme.

After John Barry recorded this in 1962, the makers of DR NO liked it so much they approached Barry and asked him to score their next movie FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, and the rest is-WOW?.

John Barry, a true genius... RIP

@MoodIndigoNL It's a bit more than that, actually. Norman only wrote the guitar melody (which was adapted from a song for his A House for Mr. Biswas musical - "Good Sign, Bad Sign"). Barry wrote all of the other motifs that run throughout (there's some clear assimilation some his pieces with the John Barry Seven, plus other jazz hits) - not just the orchestration.

@MsEla62 Historians tell us that Norman only gave us the actual melody, while Barry wrote the whole orchestral partition.
