Well what can one say....yet again the country has let something go that worked well and made Britain stand out!!!!!! now we are just one of the rest... Routemasters will live on....
One has to be glad that Red Ken is no longer running the Capital, lets hope that Boris brings back the Routemaster, a bus designed for London and an icon of British Engineering. Whats next to go could it be Big Ben !!
Barringtonbank: You can blame Ken for many things including the end of the Routemasters, but the RTW left LT service in the 1960's....... Nice video - Bob the Binman
This comment is for TheBinman40612. I did not know the RTW'S left LT service in the 1960's. I do know though that Go-Ahead Northern, a bus company here in the north east, bought them and started putting them in to service.
Ken Livingston needs to be shot and hung for getting rid of these Routemasters, RTW'S and Leyland Titans. These are beautiful London buses. There will be sadly missed. R.I.P.
what a brilliant film it brings back memories of december 2005 when i visited london for the last routelaster runs ( well i was there anyway for a rock concert !) . it was so sad to see them go . there are now a few routemasters running in dublin with the company dualway and one that i know of in private preservation here in dublin and one in nothern ireland . long may they be preserved cheers Linda
