Protection circuits are not going to prevent very many of the conditions that cause LiCo cells to explode. The ecig community is hiding behind a false impression right now. Cell and charger quality and proper chemistry choice and implementation are paramount for safety. The protection circuit is a convenience that can prevent some dangerous conditions. Using low resistance atty's with those protected LiCo cells is asking for trouble. That cell size and chemistry can not safely handle that load.
