A look inside and an update on Duluth's Polish National Catholic church, founded in 1907 and kept a pretty good secret...until now.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan In this particular situation the Polish Bishops were not Racist. In those days Churches did not seat parishioners on a First come first serve basis. When a new church was Built Families were supposted to donate a seat or (PEW) to the Church. If the Family did not show up Polish congregants who were newcomers to an ethically dominated Irish or German Catholic church had to Stand. In this case it was the Latin-Rite Irish-German Bishops Who were Racist against Slavic Culture.

  • Its a shame - such a beautiful church, with plenty of seating for the congregation, and only a handful of members. I am P.N.C.C. - love my church.

  • THEIR IDOLATRY!

  • I don't think it was a matter of being to Polish, I think its possible the Bishop was Racist. Especilly back then, Mass was said in a Common language, Latin.

  • This is fantastic! I've lived in Duluth for 9 years, and I drove by this church last summer for the first time and was astounded. I wanted to see inside, so thanks for posting this!

I'm not religious, but I lived in Poland temporarily once, and I adore it. I wonder if the congregation would ever hold a Polish dinner, or festival?
