Actually both think Ron Paul is the one to handle the economy and protect our civil liberties. Mitt Romney is almost a mirror image of Obama regarding the economy and our civil liberties.

Ron Paul is the smartest person in that room by a mile, they should all go out and read his books and learn a thing or two.

No, my best explanation for high unemployment is not that jobs were not "recreated" yet. That's a circular statement that merely describes the same thing twice. The commerce department explains quite well what contributes to growth and what slows growth in table 1.1.2. Contracting public investment and consumption slows growth while investment in equipment and software contributes to growth. Unemployment falls slowly because of productivity growth, a weak housing market and govt cuts.

I'm sure it's very gratifying to read a few stats from the Commerce Department's website; but if your best explanation for persistently high unemployment is that the jobs haven't been recreated *yet*, you'll struggle to convince people that the economy is doing great. Quoting the real GDP means diddly squat unless you can explain what those numbers mean in the real world. Sadly, that's not a place you're too familiar with.
