This is awesome< great job.

how did you get all the crossed supports so even?

Thanks! I do hope my work is an inspiration to you in your future endeavors. As for me personally, I have always had an interest in many areas of science and technology such as engineering and amateur radio. I have always had a fascination in the engineering and physics of radio/tv towers, especially the lattice design. What was cool for me in 2001 when I visited the observation deck of the CN Tower in Toronto. While not a lattice design of course, but still quite an engineering marvel.

Thanks for your positive review. It is about 22 inches high and represents a tower that is about 200 feet high. The steady burning middle lights use red leds in two pairs and the flasher on top is an incandescent indicator light. I am envisioning a similar future project where the tower is a self support type.

The ventilation does actually serve a purpose in simulating air conditioning here - inside the housing is a resistor which places enough load on the circuit to trigger the flasher that controls the flashing beacon light at the top. The bulb itself on the top of the tower does not draw enough power alone to trigger the flasher.

The fan shows some signs it is breaking down every now and then and I plan to replace it, as well as to do a couple of modifications that does not change how the model appears in this video.

Yes it is a fan. The fan used is a computer CPU style fan that runs on 12 volt power. It circulates air from the bottom of the platform underneath the housing. The air blows out of the vent on the side of the housing which is visible on the close - ups. The fan is not as noisy actually, just that the microphone on my camera is very sensitive.
