@ONotton The gold drops out in all water speeds. Obviously if the water speed is too slow the paydirt wont move, so you build a small dam to increase water flow. Ive tested this out in very fast rivers and also slower rivers and the sluice has never lost any gold. In slower water the gold gets trapped at the top, in faster water it stops a little further down but it nover gets away.

The water was just from a hosepipe, but the sluice works well in most rivers
