  • - you forgot to mention the MOST important part of phlebotomy! PATIENT IDENTIFICATION!

    - you put the goggles on THEN gloves

    - her hand is on top when anchoring the vein and you do not hold the vacuatiner holder like that, you can't see whats going on under your hand!

    - DEAR LORD! you do NOT shake your tubes!!! This causes the blood to hemolyze! Hemolyzed samples are unsuitable for analysis! This collection would have to be recollected! You gentley invert them.

  • Very poor technique Do not cover the sight of puncture - how can you tell if a hamatoma is forming. Not good practice to change hands. Do not shake bottles will haemolyse blood, gentle inversion is all that is needed. Did not check for haemostasis just taped sight.

  • Sorry u didn't wash your hands I would not let you take my blood I would ask someone else to do it until you have finished washing your hands disgusting

  • look how old this video is... standards change.year to people

  • This is the worst phleb. video I have ever seen. This lady has done everything wrong. Where is her safety on the needle? Why is here hand covering the needle? That's the easiest way to stick yourself, using her technique. She must be really old school. Why on earth would you ever anchor a vein from above baffles me too. She's got it all wrong and needs to take a refresher course in phlebotomy STAT!!!!!

  • WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!!! dont do anythng this lady tells you to do UGH!!! lawsuit trap.

  • WARNING...just a little tip...holding the 2X2 gauze over the needle directly over the site while pulling out...is not the best idea....the needle can catch...or stick to the gauze and have the chance prick you!...oh and for my own curiosity...why can't the "rubber" tourniquet be just a little bit wider so it does not roll so tightly into the arm so much?...especially on a patient with large arms?

  • WHO EVER MADE THIS VIDEO IS A DUM STUPID ASS HUMAN WHO IS VERY IDIOTIC AND UNEDUCATED. DUM ASS SHIT. SOME PEOPLE ARE SO SMART TO THE POINT WHERE THEY JUST DON'T HAVE COMMON SINCE. DUM VIDEO. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO AUTHORITY. OSHA NEEDS TO GET A HOLD OF THIS VIDEO AND SHE NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF HER JOB . what happen to washing hands and doing the PPE PROCEDURES CORRECTLY UGH!!!! VERY VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO THE MEDICAL FIELD. AND SHE IS WEARING JEWLERY OMG

  • this looks like an old video the needle does not even have a safety cap activated with one hand. i agree that this is poor technique but technique has changed over time.

  • Excuse me but I'm currently looking to become a phlebotomist, and the question I have is when inserting the needle how do you know that the needle didn't go right through the vein... please aid, thanks in advance kamy

  • Wow, if anything this is a vid to show what not to do.

  • ''YOU FORGET TO SAY I WASHED MY HANDS'' HOW UNSANITARY
