In this video you see a glimpse of one of our lower body day training.

These are zercher squats. They can replace your primary movements for lower body day.

Primary Lower Body Day Exercises:
Full Squats
Box Squats
Zercher Squat
Conventional Deadlifts
Sumo Deadlifts

We are using an Elite Fitness Giant EZ curl bar to ease the pressure on the biceps. If you don't have this bar use a regular barbell with elbow sleeves.

Other Zercher options:
Sandbag Zercher Squats
Sandbag Zercher Step-ups
Barbell Zercher Lunges

  • those cushions memory foam? lol i was thinking bout doin that but iunno where to get em and i want something soft. SOFT! that way when my bitch ass tries to rest when my ass touches the "seat" ill start sinkin and obviously it puts a lil more difficulty in the lift. but this is a strange form of squats ive never seen anyone hold it in front like that, usually i see them with their arms up way higher not grappling it mid torso, my only question is how is this not bad for your back?

  • Got to love the training style. Years of training and after watching a few of your videos, I'm inspired to hit the gym tomorrow and try out some of those exercises(cautiously, of course).

  • i think its something to do with how the weight is distributed on the bar if that makes sense. its not just a constant force, for example when he goes lower some of the chain is on the ground so its lighter and will get harder as he goes higher. if you bothered reading all of that babble, hope it helps, lol

  • As the squatter gets out of the hole, more chain is pulled off the ground and starts hanging, adding weight to the bar as the rep finishes. Helps teach explosiveness through feel.

  • What are the chains for, why not just add another weight?

  • The chains add weight at the top of the movement, if that's what you mean.
