  • Thank you for your nice reactions. I want to post more videos from this concert.

    Greetings from Almere, Holland

  • Great stuff. This song is a Jerry Reed song called Struttin'.

Love the sound of that guitar, big and fat.

  • Thank you for your nice reaction!!

  • best version of struttin so far.

  • Well, it was important enough to him that he made an announcement about it at the afternoon gig. Twenty years it took him to make that hole. Additionally, a friend of a friend of mine was TE's green room person at the performances he did for public TV last year. I suggested that he inquire about that guitar and TE said he sent it back to Maton and they had it repaired very quickly. Anything for Tommy!

    Cheers.

  • Did he care? I doubt it. He scrapes the finish off these things to get the percussive sounds. I'm betting he'll come up with some new sound built around that hole. Either way, he 's got more geetars than I have asprins. Its only a matter of asking and he'll have a new one. Consider yourself fortunate to be there for the unveiling of that new modification. ;-) I'd just love to see him in person. Never comes up my way.

  • That made my day right now :-)

  • its "struttin" by jerry reed. great song!

  • What is the name of that song? Tommy´s own?

  • This morning I was watching TE play Initiation at the WorldFest at Grass Valley, CA. when a black dot suddenly appeared at the point where he starts the 'strums' of the guitar top. At the start of the apternoon gig he told us that the guitar had been with him since 1987, and he had finally put a hole in the top. Bummer.

  • I think he's dropped it all the way to A - when he plays E in the fifth fret (A) it fits right in... what a neat sound... (reaches over to tune guitar) -- I am going to see him in 3 1/2 weeks and this video series has even got me MORE excited to go, if that's possible. THANK YOU TJITTA!

  • If that guitar is in its normal tuning that tommy has it in this song is 1 and a half steps lower on all strings.

  • yeah, how the hell? is that in drop D? must be. love that fat 'ol struttin' bassy sound!!!
