The Center for Scientific Studies in Valdivia (CECS) completed a Chile Image Foundation study of the withdrawal of nearly a mile in a year of the Jorge Montt glacier.

The geographical conditions that make Chile a privileged natural laboratory for studying climate change would capture the stunning retreat of a glacier in Patagonia, specifically in the Southern Ice Field, the third largest frozen surface of the planet after Antarctica and Greenland.

  • Unbelievable !

  • @cheesestr4wz - not so unbelievable when glacier retreat has been documented all around the world -- what's unbelievable is the vocal minority of skeptics and denialists who continue to pervert climate science into something political... as well as the failure of governments to endorse mitigation in favor of adaption to climate change. Inevitable, perhaps. *sigh*

  • @djxatlanta Oil is the new spices; sadly politics is short sighted.

On a side note, what's you take please on the recent BBC article named [CO2 climate sensitivity 'overestimated']?
