Whoops, yep Robotech was actually released on video here in the UK. However only a couple of videos were released and I doubt they got much airplay here, though I can't be certain. However I noticed that we even had Robotech II: The Sentinels released on video here in the UK, and later on DVD, though now out of print obviously. :D

beta is better

@anthonywastrinh Yes well, too bad - Robotech wasn't released on Beta (aside from MAYBE a handful of episodes). And while Beta was marginally better than VHS, it wasn't even close to the quality of Laserdisc.

They should have been able to fit all six episodes on to a VHS tape unedited. I remember you used to be able to get 3->5 hr tapes back in the day.
You know, the Star Trek tapes were released 2 episodes at a time as well. Although those shows were 1hr long.
I didn't mind the second generation story but I just didn't like the art style they used. I'm with you, my favorite is 1 closely followed by 3 but I don't hate 2.

Exactly! The complete, uncut 6 episodes would have run about 140 minutes, so there was really no reason to chop them up like they did.
I agree about the generations - I don't hate 2nd generation either, I like 'em all. But it's definitely the weakest overall of the three.
