According to Crytek, the trailer features both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage.

The video is meant as a tech demo only, so the fact that it features nanosuit-clad soldiers from Crysis running around doesn't necessarily mean anything concrete. It could just be that Crytek recycled some of its existing assets. No titles have been officially announced that will be built on CryENGINE 3 as of yet. EXPECTED RELEASE DATE 2012

US, March 23, 2009 - Crytek, the developer of Far Cry and Crysis, announced earlier this month that its in-development multiplatform game engine CryENGINE 3 would be shown off for the first time at Game Developers Conference 2009. Now it's GDC week and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at Crytek's CryENGINE 3 trailer.

(Germany), March 11th 2009 - Crytek GmbH (Crytek) is excited to announce that they will introduce their latest all-in-one game development solution CryENGINE 3, at this year's GDC Expo (March 25th 27th) in San Francisco. CryENGINE 3 will set the benchmark for complete game engine solutions in performance, and services to game engine licensees and their players. We've been preparing a long time for CryENGINE on consoles and we're confident that Crytek will again amaze developers at GDC. added Carl Jones, Director of Business Development CryENGINE.

CryENGINE is the underlying technology for Crytek's critically acclaimed games Crysis and Crysis Warhead and has already been licensed to a number of major game companies around the globe, including several recent serious games training and simulation projects.

Crytek's Engine Business Team will be available during the show for meetings to discuss licensing details with prospective clients. In addition, Crytek will be hosting a series of public presentations at their booth #5940 in the North Hall.

  • @bta1987 those jrpgs are extremely cheesy and have no real plot ("NO FRIES? AH, INFIDEL YOU INSULT MY FAMILY? PREPARE TO DIE! i dedicate the next 20 years to prepare myself mentally and physically for our next battle my foe! ARGH") and have the shittiest graphics (i don't usually care about the graphics if the gameplay is great but JRPGS have the most repetitive, bland, boring, uninteresting gameplay there is... maybe it was good in the 90s but now games evolved way beyond that crap.

  • @bta1987 pffff talkin about this final famtasy shit? lol, its dieing because its just crappy. Seriously 80% of gamers would agree that you should not waste such a good engine on an RPG no matter where its from ;) and btw, i bet you are a console player anyway, so you shoudnt talk about graphics :P

  • If only this engine could be use to create tons of awesome Japanese Role Playing Games for PC like The Last Remnant rather than those shitty North American FPS games..

  • Ah great engine being wasted on that shitty game crysis !!!

  • @borye It was in the leaked "beta" version, so I've heard... weiiiird ?:/ I think they're making a new tool for CE3 for modding etc...

  • when will the cryengine 3 sandbox be released?

  • @brunomazzei100 Hmm funny you say that xbox 360s has way better quailty infact on a side by side view ps3 gets raped. Its lighting IS WAY OFFFF

  • i wish they had levels like this in the actual game!, NYC gets so boring after a while....i know why they did it tho...because a concrete jungle is less intense than a tropical one when it comes to console gpus

  • @brunomazzei100 yea and how the pc is going to kick both of the xbox and ps3 ass. dx11 ftw

  • now you see how ps3 kicks xbox's ass!! lol
