Well technically, that's a little bit misleading.

It's true that the IS300 is sometimes gets called the Altezza, but that's because the Altezza is the Japanese equivalent of the IS300.

Altezza was released under the Toyota brand, and was only a 4 cylinder car. The exact same car was released everywhere else in the world (except the US) as the Lexus IS 200, also a 4 cylinder car.

The Lexus IS 300 is a 6 cylinder car, with the same engine as the NA Supra (2JZ-GE). The turbo Supra was 2JZ-GTE.
