Watch in 480p (high quality). The train of Pacific storms continue to blast California with a lot of rain and gusty winds.
In this video, it shows yet another strong Pacific storm pound San Jose, CA with heavy rain and morning gusty winds. However, this storm wasn't as potent as the last week's late night storm that occurred on Saturday evening of March 19, 2011 that lasted through the next day on Sunday.
Flood advisories were issued for many areas of the San Francisco Bay Area this day. In the first few minutes in the video, it shows the breezy and rainy conditions our area received during the morning hours from 10-11 a.m. Winds were possibly sustained at around 20-30 mph by noon time.
Then at 3:33 in the video, it shows the worst part of the storm roll in. It was around 1 p.m., nearing 2 p.m. Rainfall rates were possibly around a half an inch per hour in some spots. Ponding in roadways make driving dangerous/hazardous.
By 4:30 in the video, it shows the peak of the downpour. It was one of the strongest rain I encountered while driving. It was pretty nasty!
While heading back to school, many roadways have been puddled up. I even had to drive through some ponding water while on the way as shown in about 5:31 in the video.
By around 4 p.m., the rains finally subsided.
As this storm system slowly moves out of our area, more rain is expected for the next couple of days that will probably last through the weekend, but dry weather is in store for us starting early next week.
Stay safe out there guys!
thanks for posting. Looking forward to the end of our dry spell.

@BobbetLazarus thanks for watching. Yea same here, the jet stream has finally made its way south enough to make a door for storms to come rolling into our area. The stationary high pressure in the eastern Pacific/off the coast of CA is to blame for the dry weather since it "pushed" all the storm systems, including the jet stream, way north of us.

no lightning? ...

@Randoman35 I know, there wasn't any lightning. Most storms that come through our area tend to be just rain makers, not like the real storms in the midwest.. sorry :(

I was on the freeway when this happened. I was on the way to Costco. Driving in that rain must be very scary, you can't even see a thing!

@wgjpinoy654 yea it was crazy... it's probably the strongest rainstorm that I have ever driven in.
