@tmmtmogr Swaddling is more a rediscovering of how parents treated their babies from the dawn of man. There is nothing more frightening for a newborn than lying alone in bed with no boundaries of the womb.
Swaddling does not replace cuddling, it just helps babies when it's bedtime. Look at more archaic cultures. They all put the newborn in tight fabrics. This thing looks like a straight jacket though. Not the coziest looking product...

How the f... can people get themselves to wrap their babies so that they cannot move... I simply believe the babies would like to be cuddled from their parents instead... But of course the parents would risk having to get up once in a while... Like parents worldwide have done in centuries.
If this was done to an animal the Americans would be the first ones to protest I believe
