  • Why didn't we make more of a fuss of these guys? All that angst about how could British jazz be as good as the Americans. Back then, I was too busy enjoying it to worry. Alan Ganley was a superb drummer, listen to how Deuchar holds on to that killer tempo,and as for Tubby - Zoot Sims said it all, when he heard him in NY: "Man, he's bad!" He still is.

  • Actually a question to my country: Why did we Germans never to manage to set up a modern swinging band like that (let alone it airing on TV stations)? Truely great stuff!
