Lyoto Carvalho Machida (born May 30, 1978) is a Japanese Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from Salvador, Brazil who fights as a Light Heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He is currently ranked as the #1 light heavyweight fighter in the world and the #4 pound-for-pound fighter by Sherdog[4][5]

The son of a Japanese Shotokan karate master, Yoshizo Machida (町田 嘉三, Machida Yoshizō?), Machida holds an impressive record that includes notable victories over Stephan Bonnar, Thiago Silva, Tito Ortiz, Rich Franklin, B.J. Penn, Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua. Machida utilizes a karate striking style that implements a wide Shotokan stance and an elusive strategy. On May 23, 2009, Machida won the UFC light-heavyweight championship from the previously undefeated Rashad Evans by knockout in the second round.

  • @Finq08 up until that point machida was kicking his ass and it was more of a glancing blow to the rearleft side of the head

  • Shogun fights and you didn't expect him to win by knockout. Uhm.. I don't think I'll even bother watching the whole video.

  • @raidersfootball20 why was it a lucky blow? He intended to hit him in the face and he hit him in the face.

If you go make yourself a sandwich and eat it, are you lucky that you are eating? That's bullshit.

  • LOL it [pisses me off SO bad when they say shogun was owning Machida, Machida clearly had him under control till the lucky blow and Machida couldn't recover before he got tko'd

  • What are you looking at?

  • @404Trucho Rashad sucks? say that to his face u scrawny pigeon chested fag.

  • in the second fight im pretty sure machida was whooping his ass until he tripped and got tko'd
