I don't think my Wife and I learned anything from the classes. But it gave us time together to focus on this part of our life and relationship, kind of like a date, but more serious. We still had fun with it.

I think there is a benefit... they learn what they can do to help... and what to expect.

However, I think I agree with Clay... it shouldn't require the dad... what about just requiring a partner... who says I want my husband helping me? I got news for ya... the best person I ever had in the birthing room... my mother in law... she is fabulous... had 5 kids of her own and really knew when to give me support, when to stand up for me, and when to bring on the tough love.
