Its fathers like mine &, in some ways, Beyonce's, that perpetuate the stereotype that black males are incapable of being faithful & present. I LOVE(D) MY DADDY!!! Was very close to my Dad and enjoyed the time we spent together - playing, family trips and just being there. I obviously didn't take him for granted but it never dawned on me how I was the only one practically in my neighborhood that had a Dad until he passed and all my friends would speak on their absent fathers, abusive fathers, alcoholic fathers, etc. Life's so short so enjoy it and create great memories.
