@luexiong first off this gen of spec v made 175 hp not 200 hp, with a CAI you'd still be making less hp and tq and the cars weigh about the same, so then it all comes down to gearing. for a spec v to pull a 14.9 stock and an mx-6 to pull a 15.2, that little bit of a difference can easily be explained by the 15 hp difference and the difference in gearing

@luexiong i got a civic 2000 with a stock b20 non vtec and ive done 15.0, and mazda speed is not very fast, ive seen one that was modded and she does 15.6.. her best time

I love the mazdaspeed proteges first of all. Nice cars.

A little mis info on spec v's though. The 02-06 only had 175hp and 180 lbs/ft with 6-spd and helical lsd. With decent drivers 14.9 is not hard at all in the quarter mile.  Actually with $100 you can fix a lot of oem inefficiencies and the car is a whole notha level.
