I really think Alder is Ash's father. He shares many similarities, such as the love for his pokemon, his goofy antics, the way he loves food.
The story goes that Alder's beloved pokemon passed away, making me think that is why he left Delia and Ash when he was a baby.

to all the people who think his theme doesnt have the badass music. Alder as a champion is VERY different from the other champions. He is not any champions who just sit there in their throne and let the player do all the work. This theme is supposed to show how strong of a person he is. He lost his beloved pokemon,almost lost hope when N beat him and he just wandered around searching for answers. But aftergame after seeing ur character this gave him new hope. This is the only battle i enjoyed!
