Ok maybe the £700 i quoted was a promo fare. I just put searches through eBookers and Expedia, for LON - NYC (to include all airports) for a variety of dates. The cheapest were around £1000 (and there were quite a few airlines on different dates at that price)and the most expensive were around the £3500 mark. I guess £1000 on SJ was about the same as everyone else's prices. (Bearing in mind SJ's prices were £1000 and upwards)
But I still don't think they were any better value.

Maybe they had a gap in the market, but their was no market in the gap so they failed big time. It's why it went bust in 2007

£700-£1800 would just be promo fairs - believe me, there are few tickets that cost that little.
