Brazilian urban planning guru, Jaime Lerner, has cracked the problem of getting a city to run well. His idea - to put people before cars - has vastly improved residents' quality of life.

Lerner has revolutionised transport in his hometown of Curibita, diverting traffic around the centre. Huge pedestrian areas and parks have replaced busy roads and congestion has been tackled with an efficient bus service. As Lerner explains; "If you want to make life better for people, make the cities better."

  • And that shitty Rio de Janeiro got all the turism and national attention.

It's just like all got around Rio, North is Rio, South is Rio, Bolivia is Rio! No one cares about the other cities in Brazil, even the goverment.

Im tired of this idiot cultural polarization, why they dont change the name of the fking country to Brazil de Janeiro at once?.

  • @Reichx4 I don't agree wth the polarization, also, but,That "shitty is the capital of a state that represents 11% of Brazil's GDP and would be the 15th richest state in USA or one of the 25 biggest GDP of Europe.

That "shitty" is the homeland of men, women who works hard who lives to make Brazil a better place. On the contrary of morons who does nothing ther than usinging internet to write offenses against their own countrymen.

  • i respect this guy entirely; hes got the right ideas in his heart.

i think this should happen worldwide, the ideas and the dreams would be never-ending.
