Oriental is not an offensive term, people in the UK use it, only the US find it offensive. Over here when we say 'Asian' we do not just mean people who have slanted eyes or are from China, Korea, Japan etc, we mainly mean those who are Indian, Pakistani, Iranian etc so we use oriental to describe people from the Far East. Even on forms they put 'Asian' as a seperate option from 'Chinese' or 'Asian other' because Asian here refers to "brown" people who are usually Muslim.

Oriental doesn't unambiguously mean a racial slur. In fact it's a metonymy, a figure of speech often rhetorically, in which a concept isn't called by its original name but a name commonly associated with it. Did your low intelligence that's clearly obvious to anyone not oblivious to the English language steer you into thinking it was a racial slur?
