Cleopatra's Pool, Siwa Oasis, Egypt

This pool of spring water is called Cleopatra's Bath, Cleopatra's Spring or Cleopatra's Pool but whatever name it is known by, Cleopatra was NOT here. The odds that she traveled a great distance to beautiful herself in Siwa are slim to none. However, it does make a good story. Restaurants, bars and hotels have sprung up around the clear spring water with only one goal in mind, part the tourist from his/her money.

The pools and springs of Siwa Oasis are fed from underground aquifers leading from the Nile River and it's fun to sit (or swim) in the vivid blue pool, watching bubbles rise to the top.

The one you guys call Cleopatra is not an Egyptian, there is a big chance that im the first one to speak about this. Cleopatra was raised by the Amazighen, what you guys changed also to Berbers. we Imazighen never told you ''outsiders'' this, because there are only a few left of my kind. a lot of the Berbers living in Morocco. but where we truly came from was Egypt the Siwa Oasis. its the ancient and the only survivors of Old Egypt. and still today we know who our ancestors are.
