Neeme Järvi conducts the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

  • @windstorm1000 Yes, but don't forget he was trained in the good ol' German symphonic tradition by Reinecke, Jadassohn and later Rheinberger. (Just as MacDowell was educated by my fine namesake!) w/o Germans there would've basically been no "classical" music as we've come to know it. Chadwick certainly has his own distinctive voice, but the the influence of the G-men is certainly never far away.

  • Truly great American music from a true brother Sinfonian.

  • Now this REAL American music--American composer, American subject--we need to haer this more often.

  • This is incredibly beautiful.
