Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Video Sample Tests

Some random footage, sample video images with the new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens, Canon mount.
Shot mostly at f2.8 - except the opening street shot; iso 100-1250, on a 5D2.
The orchestra shots are handheld (OS on) and the rest on a tripod (OS off).
I kept the original audio so you can hear camera operation sounds and the optical stabilizer buzzing (actually pretty quiet). Also I have inserted the flower shots so you can see the shape of the bohek.

I think the lens works very well for video because of the large aperture, the zoom range and the extremely usefull OS. The downside is that the lens is a bit heavy and the focus ring is kind of stiff, but I got used to it pretty fast.

Question: How does the Sound of the OS compare to the very noticeable sound of canon's IS ?

In my country there is only a difference of $600 dollars between canon and sigma 70-200 2.8 both with IS/OS, would you stick with sigma or canon is worth the extra $600?

My priority of course is quality, but also stabilization and silence

@Enlazador9 in my opinion sigma is more silent; canon is II is weather proof and has more contrast - if theese aspects are important for you than it's worth the extra money; for anything else i like the sigma.

Did you enhance the footage at all? During post/filters? If so, what did you use (program wise/filter wise)?

I bought this lens for the Nikon mount as I had switched camps from Canon, it's a fantastic lens for the price that I paid for it. however, I tested this same lens on a Canon mount and it was nowhere near as good as the Nikon copy unfortunately. I highly recommend this lens but if you have the chance to test it before you buy it then I would suggest that you do so.

in Malaysia.sigma will cost me around RM3800 and tamron would be around 2800, nikkor a lil' bit expensive...around rm6000
