Saw this Dauphin when it flew over one of the viewing areas at the Golden Gate bridge.

  • yes and that is a shame...cool looking AND sounding. :(

  • 'technically' it's actually an HH65 to the USCG...OR if it is upgraded for HITRON use an MH65C or MCH. The MH's will be armed now for AUF roles...but you knew that i am sure.

  • The unique high pitched whine is created by the Fenestron tail rotor. Sadly the USCG HH/MH-65 are having the fan blades changed and that will give a lower noise signature like on the EC120/ 130 and 135.

  • technically its a "Dolphin" to the USCG. But Daulphin to Eurocopter.

  • Sweet video. Great flypast

  • What makes the Dauphin's turbines sound different from other helos? it sounds AWESOME

  • My friend might have been flying that bird Lt.Struthers USCG Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco!!!

Yeah they do their thing with the tourists its a nice sight, reminding them they're safe.
