7th Inning Stretch at Camden Yards Orioles' Game!!! Os beat Braves 8-4!!!!!!!

At the 7th inning stretch at the Orioles game, they always play,"Take me out to the Ballgame," followed by John Denver's,"Thank God, I'm a Country Boy." How the tradition of singing the John Denver song got started, I don't know. My friend Jeanne came back to our seats in time to finish the song with with me (and luckily she knows all the words). After that song, the O's came back from losing 4-2, to scoring 6 runs in the 7th inning, to eventually win the game and finally end an 8-game losing streak! Good times!!

This ritual started in the 1970s at the suggestion of O's shortstop Mark Belanger. Denver himself performed the song at on of the 1979 World Series games at Memorial Stadium.
