I love your review of this because it's much more in depth rather than most people saying "Oh this sucks!" or some crap like that. While I myself do not really like the concept of Peter making that deal with Mephisto to save his aunt at the cost of his happiness with his wife, I personally think it may be a good way to hopefully strengthen the characters and who knows, Pete and MJ may actually end up remarrying. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Check out Ehfvanteis's video on the subject. He has the simplest effective solution in the world for the whole thing. Yes, the whole thing. Joe Quesada and pals wanting to end the Peter-MJ marriage and/or write out MJ without divorce. The situation they wrote with Peter and MJ on the run, other heroes suddenly useless now, and Aunt May's fatal bullet. This entire convoluted setup had a non-Faustian solution all along.

Put MJ in some form of super witness protection and *let the old widow go*.

well, the writer could make some sort of thing where he bumps into Mary jane again except maybe she doens't recognize him so he has to get to know her again and win her heart or something. idk, i mean who knows, at some point in the future they could bring back, mary jane didn't die lol just keep on emailing that damn writer of the current amazing spiderman issues

you would think that the new comics are great and they are but i want someone different than just mary jane, how about spidey marries a women superhero. that may be cool .

Daredevil was put in tighter corners, than Spidey but you never saw a ret-con, or nothing like it. It is just a poor idea , that gives Spiderman more attention, and a gamble for boosting sales , if it fails , well they can always undo what they did and start from zero again.

Okay, I get this it's pointless to argue now, but for the record, don't use the gravity of the situation they are in as an excuse that One More Day had to happen. Quesada and Co. purposely backed themselves in a corner so OMD seemed necessary. Say what you will about Marvel, but major storylines such as these as planned months, even years, in advance.

One More Day wasn't bad or good but average. And all of you who say Brand New Day sucks you're only half right; The villains they made at first were total crap: paper girl?, freak, menace, etc. However starting with about issue 590-before American Son-the stories have gotten better BECAUSE of M.J.'s absence. It's just Peter with no one to turn to but other heroes (FF 4, New Avengers, Daredevil). He's exploring what could happen w/ Black Cat, and now the Gauntlet's going down; Spidey's back baby.

i hated peter and MJ marrige so im glad thsi storyline ended theri marrigie :)
